Snow covered sand dunes are confusing to walk over. There’s still a ‘squeak’ of fresh compressed snow but the texture is absorbed by the sand beneath. The ‘white’ sands also do not look quite as pure as they normally do revealed beneath the snow. The orange glow from within the clouds did nothing to mute the cold this morning.
